The Principal’s Corner

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back our students and our staff and welcome our new teachers.

Our new faculty and staff include:

Amy Akin – seventh grade math

Lauren Durrett – sixth grade math

Chrysta Shearry – Exceptional Education

Dee Anderson – Para – Professional

We are so glad they are here and are excited about the wonderful gifts and talents they bring to our school and our students.

We had a great three days of in- service with our faculty and staff.  We spent time getting to know each other as well as preparing for the upcoming year.

I want to thank all the sixth grade parents and staff who came to our sixth grade orientation.  We hope you found that helpful to prepare you for the first day of school.  We had a wonderful crowd and appreciate your coming.

I want to commend our faculty, staff, students and parents for their hard work the last year.  As you may well know we passed seventeen of seventeen goals for our Average Yearly Progress (AYP).  North Jefferson students scored above the District average in most all categories.  We will continue to work to exceed our current goals.

The year is under way.  We had awesome days.  Everyone from parents, students, staff, and faculty has done an outstanding job getting settled in and moving from place to place.

We are looking forward to a great year.
